Breadboard power supply
This is a convenient plug-in board for breadboards. It provides power to the breadboard's horizontal power rails . It can generate positive and negative supplies from a simple phone charger with uUSB. With multi-turn potentiometers, you can fine tune the voltages to your needs.
The project is a flexible power supply that can be plugged into MB102 breadboards. It is powered from any 5V USB power source via a uUSB socket. The board has 2 ICs: a dual DC/DC converter with a boost and buck-boost converter and a linear regulator. The first one can generate a positive voltage from 5V to 20V and a negative voltage from -1.8V to -11V. The second one can generate a voltage between 0.6V and 4.5V. By using multi-turn potentiometers, the voltage on each converter can be set. LEDs indicate when the supply is on and possible faults caused by overload/short circuits. The on/off switch allows the user to quickly turn the supply on and off. The negative voltage is connected to the bottom rail of the breadboard, while a jumper lets the user select a voltage for the top rail. He can choose from 3 positive voltages: the 5V directly from the USB input, the voltage generated by the boost converter, and the voltage generated by the linear regulator. By using jumper wires, the unused supplies can still be connected to the circuit on the breadboard (see picture).
